This was followed by the gov.uk report published in August 2018, which exposed the gender pay gap statistics of over 10,667 UK companies.

Some of the results were shocking. One lingerie company even reported that its female employees were earning as much as 75.7% less per hour (on a median basis) than its male colleagues. But what does this really mean?

It’s difficult to comprehend what a 75.7% pay gap represents in everyday life. So this got us thinking – what does the pay gap look like when you apply it to everyday items? Well, that’s exactly what we’ve worked out.
